Hello everyone. A momentous thing has just occurred. I typed 6 words into two boxed and clicked “Save”. It might not sound as much, but it heralds the moving of Wibsite.com from it’s old home to the brand new shiny one.

Even as I type some people will already be able to see the new site at Wibsite.com, for others of you it may take a day or two to catch up. Don’t worry if it takes a little while, these things do sometimes go quite slowly. In fact I can’t (yet) see the new site but I live in hope.

As soon as I can get in I’ll set up your user accounts. In the meantime, those of you who can, take a look around the new site. What do you think?

To everyone who is offering to send chocolate: thanks very much. For obvious reasons we don’t want to put our addresses on t’internet for everyone to see, so I’ll have a discussion with Dave and we’ll be in touch.

[Update: 11:46pm]

I’ve started to create your new user accounts, so about half of you will (hopefully) have received an email with your new username and password and a link to log in. If you can see the new site (I still can’t, so don’t worry if you can’t either) then you can log in and start Wiblogging.

I fully expect a few people at least to have some problems. I’ve had to change one or two usernames after I created the user account due to various things. So if yours doesn’t work (after you’ve checked spelling etc) please don’t hesitate to put a note here as king for some assistance and I’ll be in touch.

Please DO NOT put your username, password or email address in your comment here as the Bad People will get it. But you knew that anyway, didn’t you?

Why the continued delay? Logging in problems

Oooo from down here too. And I have an e-mail.

Thanks to all. Fountains of chocolate shall pour through your streets once we get the secret details.

I’ve logged in. Oh my. Rather more complex than the beloved former Wibsite. But what fun.

Now…let’s see what I can stuff up. 🙂

Hurrah! It’s rather pretty! Lots of things to play with… Good job boys!

This is probably a silly question, but will everyone who had an RSS feed to our old blog have to reset it to our new one? And likewise, will I have to reset all my wibsite RSS feeds?

I can’t check because I can’t turn on my RSS program due to being away from home on expensive and slow wireless interweb…

My other thing to report is that when I’m in the posting window, I can’t get to the “publish” and “save” buttons. They are sort of hidden. There’s a movey thing that I can drag and then I can see them, but as soon as I let go of the movey thing it snaps back and hence I can’t click on them. I’m using Firefox for Mac and it’s the newest one.

It’s not an emergency as I am cunning and sly and have come up with a devious plan to circumvent the problem. And I’ve poked around in various settings and whatnot but am having not much luck.

Hello – just a reminder that if you send an email to the address that got stuck irretrievably onto my wiblog, I won’t get it, but I will get it if you send to the address that this message appears to come from..!

Looking forward to the new look and much initial confusion.

    K.x

Another anxious would-be wiblogger … but maybe I’m in the half which is still to receive their passwords … but, on the other hand, perhaps the email which I should have received has been eaten by a spam filter …

Me too – I’ve seem that my blog is live on the new site but no e-mail yet… Also concerned as Kate because I hadn’t been receiving comments by e-mail for some time and tried to change my e-mail address for wibsite but failed so same applies!
Well done for all the hard work – the new site looks very shiny and fab :o)

What Moog said. re comments and e-mail addresses. Mine should go to the one from whence this comment came not the one that got tied to my old comments which hasn’t worked for years. Can see my new, shiny blog but can’t get at it! The new site looks great.

Thanks! Got my password and logged in – now trying to choose the new decor to replace my old wipe-clean tiles. Still – I suppose they were in need of a little re-grouting…

“This is probably a silly question, but will everyone who had an RSS feed to our old blog have to reset it to our new one? And likewise, will I have to reset all my wibsite RSS feeds?”

Not a silly question at all. The system is set up to automatically forward from the old Wiblog RSS addresses to the new ones, but I’m afraid I can’t say whether your RSS reader support such forwarding. It is, as they say, one of life’s unanswerables.

“My other thing to report is that when I’m in the posting window, I can’t get to the “publish” and “save” buttons. They are sort of hidden”

I get the same thing, I’m afraid. Not sure why – it worked great for me just a few days ago. I’ll take a look as soon as I can.

For everyone else still waiting for usernames and passwords, your patience is very much appreciated. Unfortunately I have paying clients needing my services tonight, so I can’t promise you’ll get your details *very* soon. Probably tomorrow at this rate.

Why thank-you Mr Wiblog. Perhaps it’ll fix itself. That often occurs if I postpone action for long enough. It’s an excellent problem-solving strategy.

Also works for the common cold.

The “Save” and “Publish” was similar for me [Firefox] yesterday and earlier today — but now it seems all fine. If anything was done by the boffins: thank you; if not, thank you anway. 🙂

    Thanks lots.

One question – where’s the ‘post’ button? My write page seems disfigured, and where I’d expect the ‘post’ button to be, is just white, blanked out. :S

Thankyou fantastic people for getting details sent. I am now sorted with my login, etc.
Like Ian said – the ‘Save’ and ‘Publish’ were lost under the extended post box for entering text for a new blog entry but now seems to be fine (I am using Firefox on a mac).
However, I do have a minor problem (kind of ironic really) that I can’t seem to post to the boards because it keeps telling me to log in. When I put in my username and password it takes me back to the same place without me being logged in and tells me that to post here I must log in. Obviously I would have posted this issue under the wibsite support board but it won’t let me!!!!!! D’Oh!
Am I doing something wrong somewhere??

I’m having the same login problem as Moog! I’ve newly registered with the Wibsite boards (as one day, I’d like to have a Wiblog if it’s possible, please, and thank you, but no rush…) and I tried a new password, as I thought I might have forgotten which one I was using, but whilst I could get to the boards two days ago, now I can’t.

I am having the same trouble now [I could post before] Moog. So either it is a tech-related issues, as the comments are not displaying on the main wibsite.com either as they once did, or I may be completely wrong and we are both silly and doing silly things :).

I imagine the technical boffins here know of it and will deal with it as their real lives allow.

There’s a bit of help here about the logging in problem: https://wibsite.wordpress.com/2008/11/11/logging-in-problems/
